Key Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to SECP shariah guidelines and other regulatory requirements related to Shariah governance.
- Ensure that business of shariah compliant funds are in conformity with Shariah principles and rules.
- Stay updated with changes to the Shariah Governance Regulations and assist in ensuring the company complies with new regulations.
- Act as a liaison between the company and the Shariah Advisors.
- Assist in organizing and conducting shariah compliance training sessions for employees.
- Participate in product reviews and provide input on Shariah compliance considerations.
- Assist in preparing and submitting shariah compliance reports to senior management, board of directors and regulatory authorities etc.
- Assist in preparation of responses to internal audit observations related to shariah products activities.
- Assist Head of Compliance in reviewing all the shariah product proposals and related agreements, contracts, manuals, process flows.
- Respond to any inquiries from the SECP or other regulatory bodies regarding Shariah compliance issues.
- Other duties/task as assigned by the Head of Compliance
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university with Certificate or diploma in Islamic Finance.
Requirements
- Basic understanding of Shariah Governance Regulations and general Shariah compliance principles.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- 1-2 years of experience in Shariah.
